Applications are being accepted for the Village of Ilion Property Maintenance Officer. This will be a Part-Time Position. Duties include: enforcing Village Codes, investigating complaints, inspecting properties, communicating with residents and property owners, creating records, and preparing reports.
The position will work with with the Building Codes Officer, with reporting responsibities to the Village Board. Minimum requirements call for a High School Diploma and basic computer skills. Knowledge of Village and NYS Codes is a plus.
Candidates will be required to complete trainings established by the Department of State, and a Herkimer County Civil Service Exam.

Attention Village of Ilion Electric Users: Due to a transitioning to automated electric meter reading, it will be necessary to momentarily interrupt the electric service to your home or business.
This project will begin May 15th and continue until all meters in our system have been replaced. Unless you are a business or are on the special needs list, this will be the only notification you will receive of an interruption of service during the time frame noted above.
Commercial businesses will be notified in advance and efforts will be made to replace the meters at times that will not impact your ability to transact business.

It has been brought to the Village's attention that during recent windy weather conditions we have been experiencing, that recyclable materials are being blown around various neighborhoods when placed out for collection.
Please remain aware that recyclables are NOT to be placed in plastic bags due to having to remain loose when placed in the collection vehicle.
Recyclables also need to be placed in a container WITH A LID when placed to the curb on your collection night.
Thank you for your cooperation with this issue in keeping Ilion as clean as possible.
