The Village of Ilion Police Department will be receiving federal funding to assist with traffic safety education. The Police Department will be receiving $16,950. The funds will be used for Child Passenger Safety program projects, as well as for the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program.

The Village of Ilion Fire Department responded to a fire at First Ave at around 6 AM Saturday Morning April 17, 2010. The three- story building was abandoned and did collapse during the fire. It was determined by the Village of Ilion Fire Department that no one currently lived in the building. At this time the cause is still under investigation.
