Mayor Stephens, as mentioned in a recent article in the Utica OD, is encouraging electric customers who have questions regarding the upcoming increase in electric rates from the NY Power Authority (NYPA) to contact Mike Huvane, Vice President of Marketing for NYPA at 914-390-8117 for an explanation on how this will affect the rate payer in the Village of Ilion.

Construction has ended on the Village of Ilion's Reservoir # 2 dam. The renovations as required under a consent order issued to the Village by the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) has been satisfied. A final inspection by the NYSDEC was completed in November and a final approval to fill letter was received in mid December. It is anticipated that it will take to at least spring before the reservoir will be at necessary levels.
